About Us

Innovation is in our DNA. From the beginning we have brought new ideas and technologies to the waste and recycling industry. Our machinery roots began with the invention of the world’s first aluminum can flattener in 1977 (CP stands for Can Pac) to the development and deployment of largescale turnkey material recovery facilities today.

Our culture thrives on curiosity and continuous learning. When a bar is met another is raised. Our employees have a service mentality. We put customer’s needs first. When you become a CPG customer, you become a lifelong partner. We’re in it with you for the long haul.

A Unique Perspective

We are recyclers at our core. CPG has evolved with the recycling industry with roots in operations as well as equipment manufacturing and MRF design.

We owned and operated a material recovery facility (MRF) for over 25 years processing half of the city of San Diego’s curbside recycling. We don’t just manufacture machines, we engineer solutions based on our firsthand experience.

We understand commodity fluctuations, what downtime and maintenance really mean, and the ever-changing material streams. We relate to our customers because we have walked in their shoes.

That is the CP Group difference.

Safety

It isn’t just a box to check

Safety isn’t just a priority at our company; it’s ingrained in our culture. From top management to every team member, we prioritize safety in all aspects of our work. We continuously strive to foster a culture where safety is not just a set of rules, but a mindset that guides our actions every day. Through comprehensive training, regular communication, and a shared commitment to each other’s well-being, we ensure a safe workplace for our employees and customers.

Safety isn’t just a box to check; it’s a core value that defines who we are and how we operate.

Awards

At CPG, we are honored to have received the 2022 NWRA’s (National Waste and Recycling) Innovator of the Year Award for the invention of the patented OCC Auger Screen.  Our system installation at Metro Waste Authority was honorably mentioned for NWRA 2022 Recycling System of the Year.

We received the SWANA (Solid Waste Association of North America) Gold Award for Excellence in Recycling Systems for three (2014-2016) consecutive years (SWANA has since ceased their awards recognition).

We are also dedicated to nurturing the next generation of young professionals. We are profoundly grateful for the support and eagerly anticipate future milestones.
